Tips for Planning a Day Spa Party

Have you recently decided that you would like to host a day spa party?  If so, you may be excited.  With that said, it is important for you to start your planning.  To help you get started with doing so, a few important and helpful tips are highlighted below.

The first step in planning a day spa party is to create a guest list.  This is very important.  When you call around or use the internet to examine day spas and salons that offer private parties, you need to have an ideal total of guests.  As previously stated, this is important, as some day spas have restrictions on the number of guests they are able to accommodate.

Before sending out your day spa party invitations, it is important that you decide on a location.  If you end up changing the party information, it may lessen the chances of your guests showing up.  That is why you should make sure that you have appointments set for everyone before notifying your guests or before sending them party invitations.

Speaking of party invitations, you have a number of different options.  Blank invitations are sold at most retail stores, but you can also make your own.  Homemade invitations that are made on the computer or by hand are nice and affordable.  You may also be able to send out email invites, provided you have everyone’s email address.  With that said, know that actual invitations are more personal and often appreciated by guests more.

As for selecting the day spa to have your private party at, you will first want to examine all of your local options.  You can do this by using online business directories, a standard internet search, or your local phone book.  Contact the day spas in your area and inquire about private parties.  Next, determine the number of guests that they are able to accommodate.  This may automatically eliminate some of your options right away.

It is also important to examine the services that are available to you and your guests.  Typically speaking, you will find that establishments that double as day spas and salons have the biggest selection of services to choose from.  The more services and procedures that your guests are able to undergo, the better the party you are likely to have.

Speaking of services, it is important to examine how your party will be paid for.  Generally speaking, the host is responsible for payment, but you may have other plans.  If your guests are required to pay a fee, even just a small percentage, be sure to let them know ahead of time.  You don’t want to force anyone to attend a party that they must help pay for.  As for your payment options, examine spa packages.  If they are available, which they should be, you may be provided with a small discount.  Make sure you choose attractive packages that your guests will like, such as those that include full body massages and facials.

In keeping with your payment options, you also have the option of providing your party guests with a set amount.  For example, you can give everyone $100 to use.  This approach is nice, as they are able to choose their own packages.  For example, $100 may buy a half an hour massage, a new haircut, and a professional makeup application.  This approach is nice, but it is often less organized, which may not be what you were seeking.

If it is possible, do not pay for everyone’s packages or spa treatments until the day of your private party actually arrives.  A day spa may request that you pay a non-refundable deposit.  This is okay, especially if they will be temporarily closing down their business for your private party.  As for the guests, it is important to remember that last minute changes and emergencies do occur.  That is why you should avoid prepaying for all your guests, especially if you won’t get your money back.
